WMT HLE-1 Encoder
The HTTP Live Streaming Encoder
The HLE-1 is an encoder for HTTP Live streaming (HLS 1.1). With an SDI input, the HLE-1 will encode a multi-rate stream ranging from a few Kbit to several Mbit. The encoder accepts both an SDI and IP input and enables adaptive distribution from many sources including WMT products as well as third party devices including Android, Apple and Windows.
The HLE encoder transcodes video streams to HLS web streams, which can be distributed by Content Delivery Networks.
Outputs of decoders can be used as an input into the HLE server.
For example it can be used as an input into Mobile Viewpoint’s SpotOn application, a live TV clipping application tool. It fully integrates with the drag ‘n drop features of the LinkMatrix management platfrom, giving users full flexibility in choosing which streams from which encoders will be sent to the HLE-1 encoder. This is normally done via a WMT debonding server.
